Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues to fulfill its responsibilities, including the protection of the population and territories from natural and man-made emergency situations.

Thus, over the past day, according to the calls received by the “112” hotline of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, rescue operations were carried out by the relevant agencies of the Ministry on 83 fire accidents, 8 cases of helplessness and 1 suicide attempt. As the result of the taken quick and urgent measures the fires were extinguished operatively and people's lives were saved.

In total, over the past day, 11 people, including 2 minors, as well as a person who tried to commit suicide by climbing onto the roof of a five-story residential building in Yasamal district of Baku and 2 people who were in danger of drowning while swimming in the territory of "Goradil" and "Lankaran" water rescue stations were rescued by MES forces. Also, the body of the unknown man found in the Main Mil canal in the territory of Ahmadbayli village of Fuzuli district was removed from the canal and handed over to the relevant authorities.
