On February 2^nd an event dedicated to February 2^nd – the Day of Youth was held by the Trade Union of the Workers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Deputies of the minister of emergency situations medical service lieutenant-general Faig Tagi-zade and lieutenant-general Etibar Mirzayev, deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation Javanshir Alkhasov, chairman of the Trade Union of the Workers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Mehman Ismayilov participated in the event.

The event started with the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Opening the event the chairman of the Trade Union of the Workers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Mehman Ismayilov said that on the initiative of the national leader Heydar Aliyev the 2^nd of February is celebrated as the Day of Youth every year since 1996 and dealt with the high state care rendered to the younger generation.

Deputy minister of emergency situations lieutenant-general Etibar Mirzayev congratulated Azerbaijani youth on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and stressed that the founder of the youth policy in Azerbaijan the national leader Heydar Aliyev made indispensable contributions to the training of young cadres. The deputy minister noted that President Ilham Aliyev who continues this policy successfully pays special attention to the youth and the decrees and orders signed by the president are obvious examples of this policy. Etibar Mirzayev emphasized that according the progressive political line of Azerbaijani government the Ministry for Emergency Situations also pays special attention to the solution of social problems of youth and their education in patriotic spirit.

Deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation Javanshir Alkhasov spoke about the role of youth in the present development of Azerbaijan. He stated that the government of Azerbaijan has provided all conditions for high-level education and labor activity of Azerbaijani youth.

Speaking on behalf of the youth the officer of the State Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Khalig Hasanli expressed gratitude to the head of state for the attention and care to the youth.

After the speeches a group of employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations distinguished themselves in the service and demonstrated high performance were awarded with diplomas and valuable gifts by the Trade Union of the Workers of the Ministry.
