Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations saved lives of two helpless fishermen at the sea

On November 28th, 2014, two fishermen on their motor boat embarked into the sea from the territory of Salyan district for fishing when became helpless about 27 kilometers from the shore nearby the Sangi-Mugan island. The rescue divers were involved in the area with a helicopter of the Aviation Detachment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations who rescued the helpless fishermen and handed them as appropriate.

Ministry of Emergency Situations informs the public once again that only the day time small vessels and motor boats can sail in the sea.

Operation of small capacity ships is prohibited when the wind speed reaches 5-7 m/h, wave height is more than 0.5-0.75 m and the sea visibility is limited due to foggy weather.

Sailing distance of small vessels in the Caspian Sea is 2 nautical miles from the coast or 3700 meters.

Operating of ships not passed through the state registration and technical inspection, without hull number and violating the rules of cargo and passenger transportation is prohibited.

Small vessels and motor boats must be equipped with rescue circles, magnetic compass and or GPS navigation tools, life jackets (in proportion with the number of staff), anchors, mooring ropes, a double paddle, a flashlight to signal at night, a bucket and or outflow hand pump, the first-aid kit bag and fire extinguisher.

Ministry of Emergency Situations appeal to the public to follow safety rules.
