Officers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the National Academy of Sciences participated in the event which was attended by Mr. Akif Alizadeh, President of the National Academy of Sciences, Medical Service Lieutenant-General Faig Taghi-zada, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations.

Mr. Akif Alizadeh, President of the National Academy of Sciences in his introductory remarks pointed out the objectives of organizing such events noting that the main purposes are the application of scientific advances in the direction the prevention of natural and man-made disasters and eliminating the consequences and promotion scientific studies in this field.

Speeches were made on "Heydar Aliyev and his experience to organize emergencies struggle”, "Preventive measures in order to provide the emergency protection in terms of human rights", "Modern radio-ecological condition of drinking artesian waters in the north-western districts of the Great Caucasus region”, "Creation the atlas and the data base of the Emergency Situations for the Republic of Azerbaijan", "Naftapen" - a new reagent for firefighting“”, "Tension detection and seismic hazard assessment in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Caucasus and the Caspian Sea bordering areas", "Identification of the level of radon gas in the territory of Azerbaijan and the factors affecting it", "Assessment of accident risks with the reliability theory methods", "General state of emergency struggle in the Republic of Azerbaijan" and other topics and discussions were held.

At the end, the importance of holding such events was noted in terms of providing the scientific community with detailed information on the most important scientific researches and evaluation of their results in daily activities by the emergency bodies.
