Meeting with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in the MES

On September 26th 2013, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, received Mr. Ikramullah Mahsud, Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, Minister gave detailed information on works done in the field of emergency management in the Republic and activities of the Ministry’s bodies. Also, importance of enhancing cooperation between relevant bodies of both countries on fields of prevention and joint elimination of consequences of natural and man-made disasters brought to the attention of Ambassador.

Minister expressed condolences to Mr. Ikramullah Mahsud for human loss resulted from a strong earthquake occurred near the Baluchistan province of Pakistan and offered to conduct search-rescue operations and render other assistance in quake-affected areas.

Ambassador, in his turn, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and highly appreciated the offer of assistance by the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Ambassador also emphasized the importance of deepening the cooperation between relevant state bodies of both countries.

Then, views on other issues of mutual interest were exchanged broadly.
