The delegation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations paid a visit to the Republic of Turkey

Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant-General Etibar Mirzayev led the delegation to Turkey on January 6-7, 2015.

To develop cooperation with the relevant bodies of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkey, as well as to create opportunities for the rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic Azerbaijan to train at the Underwater protection educational institution under the Turkish Naval Training and Education Command on diver training, disposal of explosives, chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear hazard protection were the subjects of discussions held within the visit. Issues of mutual interest in this direction were also discussed.

Meeting with the Turkish Armed Forces, Istanbul Bosphorus commander Erjument Tatlyoghlu on the first day of the visit the delegation was informed about the activities of the Command. It was noted that this is one of the basic commands of the Turkish Armed Forces in charge of the Bosphorus security and the sea rescue which also coordinates other important issues.

At the meeting with the Commander of the Underwater Rescue Command Ilhan Ojalan a detailed presentation was made for the delegation on the courses of the Command held each year on land and sea rescue operations. Views on participation of the MES rescuers at underwater security courses set up for diver training were exchanged during the presentation.

On the second day of the visit meeting with Mr. Kaan Erkara Commander of the Rescue Group Command of the Turkish Armed Forces was held. Detailed information on Command activities and training courses they organize was provided, the equipment divers use to submerge was demonstrated.

Further, the meeting with the Underwater Security Group Command commander Mustafa Kemal Ozturk was held in which the Command rescuers informed the delegation on work they have carried out in the fields of disposal of explosives, as well as protection against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear hazards and demonstrated their equipment.

The preliminary agreement on the preparation of the rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan together with their Turkish colleagues on disposal of explosives, as well as chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear hazard protection was reached.
